The last time I visited, it was New Year’s Day 2023 — the entire campus was closed for the holidays. Lecture halls were locked, walkways were empty, and the vibe was… well, non-existent. So, naturally, I had to come back and see Coventry Uni in full motion.
And wow — I’m glad I did.
I’m George Wilkinson, host of the Global Scholar YouTube channel, and I’m on a mission to explore real UK university life through the lens of an international student. This revisit to Coventry was part of that mission — and the change was immediate and noticeable.
A Lively Campus Full of Life
Unlike my first trip, this time the campus was buzzing. Students everywhere. Conversations, footsteps, and real activity — Coventry University was alive with purpose and community.
Whether you’re walking past the modern faculty buildings or heading through student spaces, you get a sense that this university isn’t just about academics — it’s about connection, opportunity, and movement.
A Quick Stop at the Technology Park
Midway through my walk, I stopped at a particularly fascinating part of the university — the Coventry University Technology Park.
Tucked just outside the main campus, this space brings innovation to life. It includes:
- An Enterprise Centre supporting startups
- A Serious Games Institute exploring game-based learning
- A Design Hub and Simulation Centre
- And several other innovation-focused units
I was genuinely impressed by how invested Coventry is in future-focused learning and real-world application.
